Home IT
Laptop taking its sweet time? Wi-Fi disappearing when you need it? Tell me what it’s doing. You don’t need to know what it’s called.
Slow startups, crashes and software that won’t cooperate. I’ll check what’s wrong before suggesting an upgrade or replacement.
Help with patchy connections, printers, email and getting your devices working together at home.
New-device setup, moving files, backup guidance and practical steps to keep accounts and devices better protected.
Repair before replace
Slow does not always mean obsolete. An affordable upgrade or a clean Windows refresh can sometimes give an older computer years of useful life without the cost of replacing it.
WIT will look at what is actually holding the machine back before recommending new hardware. If an SSD, more memory, a Windows refresh or a sensible repair is the better-value option, that is what I’ll recommend. If replacement genuinely makes more sense, I’ll tell you that too.
WIT Shop · Coming soon
WIT is preparing a small shop for sensibly priced everyday tech and properly described refurbished equipment. The aim is simple: useful hardware, honest condition reports and help fitting or setting it up when you need it.
Most stock will be refurbished or pre-owned tech that has been checked, tested and honestly described before it is listed.
SSDs, memory, SD cards, cables, adapters and other useful hardware can be new or pre-owned. Each listing will state the condition clearly.
Buying an SSD, memory or another upgrade? Where it makes sense, WIT can also fit it, move your data or get the device set up properly.

User and device issues, email troubleshooting and the small problems that interrupt a working day.
Microsoft 365 setup, account access, backups and practical security improvements suited to your business.
Small projects, repeatable test procedures, UAT tidy-up and useful automation. Larger or specialist work is scoped separately.
Start with what’s happening and what you need to get back to. I’ll ask a few questions, then explain whether remote help or a visit makes sense.
You don’t need to arrive with a diagnosis. That’s my part.
I’ll aim to reply as soon as possible and always within one working day What counts as a working day Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. Replies can arrive outside normal office hours, but the commitment is that you won’t be left waiting beyond the next working day.. If your issue is urgent, mark it as priority support and I’ll let you know whether I can take it sooner.
You’ll know what I’m trying and why, without needing a translation afterwards.
I’ll look for a sensible repair or upgrade before recommending a new machine. If replacement really is the better option, I’ll say so. If it’s fine as it is, I’ll say that too.
If you can sensibly fix it yourself, I’ll point you in the right direction. If the job needs a specialist, I’ll tell you.
If the job changes, I’ll check with you before doing additional chargeable work.
Nothing extra gets added to the job without agreeing it first.
Not sure? Just describe the problem. WIT will suggest the sensible route.
Local call-out area

Tech Check
You should not have to diagnose the problem before asking for help.
Tell WIT what is going wrong and get an initial assessment of the sensible next step. If it looks simple, you may get pointed in the right direction. If it needs proper troubleshooting, remote access or a visit, the options and price are explained before any paid work starts.
A useful first look, not a disguised sales call.
The Tech Check does not include remote access, hands-on troubleshooting, repairs or detailed configuration. Any paid work is agreed separately before it starts.

Flexible help with users, devices, Microsoft 365 and everyday IT problems.
A one-hour remote Microsoft 365, email or user-support job would normally start at £35. On-site work, recurring support and larger projects are scoped separately.
Examples are illustrative, not fixed quotes. Prices shown are starting prices. We’ll confirm the expected cost before work begins and ask before carrying out anything that would increase the agreed price. One-off consumer work is normally payable on completion; remote sessions may require payment before the session, and customer-specific parts, licences or other third-party costs may require payment in advance. Business invoice terms are confirmed on the quote or invoice. Recurring support does not include a 24/7 helpdesk or guaranteed emergency response unless expressly agreed in writing. The fair-fix promise
If we can’t resolve your problem, you won’t automatically be charged the full quoted repair or service fee. Diagnostic work, call-out or travel costs, approved parts or software, and other work successfully completed may still be chargeable. We’ll explain any charges that could still apply before work begins.
Read the fair-fix termsThe person behind WIT Solutions.
I spent more than seven years in professional IT support before moving into systems administration. In that time, I’ve dealt with a lot of technology that worked perfectly well right up until someone actually needed it.
My work has covered Windows, Microsoft 365, networks, access, devices and infrastructure. WIT Solutions is me bringing that experience to homes and small businesses around Stainforth, with remote help available across the UK.
When you contact WIT, you deal with me. There’s no call centre and no passing your problem around a team. I’ll work out what’s happening and tell you what I think makes sense.
That might mean repairing it, upgrading it, replacing it or changing one setting. I favour keeping useful technology working for longer when that makes financial and practical sense. It saves customers money and avoids unnecessary electronic waste. If you can sensibly sort it yourself, I’ll say so. If it needs a specialist, I’ll say that too.
